HARTWICK WATER COMMISSIONERS' MEETING
September 28, 2009
The meeting was called to order at 7:05. Those present were Pat Ryan, Eileen Barown, Ken Hotaling, Dave Butler, Delos Field, and K. Wayne Bunn.
The Pledge to the Flag was conducted.
MOTION: Dave Butler moved to accept the minutes of the July 27th meeting. Ken Hotaling seconded. Prices for a new pump motor were discussed. Delos will check whether a new motor would be available within three days, if the old one quit. Wayne Bunn will send Layne Christensen's entire estimate to the Town Board. The motion then passed with all votes "Aye."
The south wall of the Pump House needs attention, as the blocks and mortar are deteriorating due to moisture. Delos will inspect the wall and make a recommendation.
Water Meter Report--Forty seven meters could not be read. It was suggested that Dan Crandell meet with Vellano Brothers to check all the meters.
Rural Development has asked Cranbrook Construction for a further break-down of some of his work.
Cranbrook projects finishing the interior piping work during the week of October 19th. It will be finished by the end of October.
RESERVOIR ISSUES
- Steel steps were completed by Bruce Wellman for $4958.56 (wage rate=$55.00 per hour). This was an emergency repair to meet the County Codes regulations by their dead line.
- Other codes issues were discussed.
- Ventilation-Box fans will be purchased and installed in the vents in the reservoir building to counteract the condensation.
Telemeter Dialer-this is a work in progress.
Well Head Protection Law-has been sent to Department of Health, and they should report back soon.
Water Samples-Results of recent testing: Copper=.015 mg per liter. Lead =1.3 mg. per liter. Neither exceeded action levels.
The next Water Commissioners' Meeting will be held November 23, 2009.
